There and back again.

I just got back from a whirlwind trip back to Ontario to visit family and friends.  My visit began in Toronto last Thursday, at the peak of a record-breaking heat wave.

This was the thermometer reading after only five minutes on the
front railing of my  nephew's house.
I wonder how high it would have gone if  it didn't stop at 50 C ?

Amusingly enough I chose that day to visit the greenhouses at Allen's Gardens in downtown Toronto.

I know, I know, I need my head read, but it was lovely there !

At least the dogs at the dog park were keeping cool.

I had wonderful visits with family, former co-workers and friends in Toronto and Peterborough.   I rode planes and buses and trains and subways

and even in a friend's very cool, red Mustang convertible !

I bunked with friends and with family.  There were dinners, a play, long chats, marvellous walks, card games, home movies, old stories and lots of hugs.  It was a lovely visit.

I am a very lucky person.

And I know it.

  2. I'm getting used to the very short hair. It's marvellous waking up each day and not having to fuss with it.

    See you soon.
