More on Bear River ...

A real treat on my visit to Bear River was getting to meet fellow blogger Flora Doehler of  Our Bear River Adventure.  Flora and her partner Larry, are artists who are thriving in the creative atmosphere of Bear River.

My chum Margie and I visited their Green Willow Studio, where Larry patiently took me through a  hands-on demonstration of how he creates his beautiful enamel jewellery.

Enamel-work in foreground.

Some of Larry's beautiful enamel-work.
I love Flora's vibrant, paintings.
Margie, Larry and Flora, and Wendy too.
Pleasant Street Baptist Church Steeple.

High on our "to do" list was driving down Digby Neck to Brier Island.  Digby Neck is a narrow peninsula that sticks down in the Bay of Fundy.  The two-hour trip is punctuated by two short ferry rides.

We made an unplanned trip down Beautiful Cove Road, just because we liked its name.  And we weren't disappointed.

Basalt formations in the foreground.  Basalt is formed by lava.
I Googled it but I got mildly lost in the explanation.

Now THIS looks like how I expect lava  to look.
Nova Scotia is a feast for the eyes.  Our trip to Brier Island did not disappoint.

Sadly, there are abandoned buildings everywhere -- signs of a by-gone era when fish were plentiful and times were prosperous.

There were countless paths to follow.  Each offering its own special delights.

But this small cove held the greatest delight of the trip.
