A question for all you drivers out there.

Pray tell, what on earth does this sign mean ?

If I had to guess, I'd say a big green round circle is an "OK anything goes" sign.

It's on the median as you're exiting from the mini-strip mall where my doctor's office is located.  Since  you can only turn right,  why didn't they put up a "no left turn" sign ?

I'm stumped.

  2. Found this, which is still pretty weird, but I assume it's warning you not to drive up onto the meridian.

    2. Cindy, thanks for sending the link. Very helpful should I ever have the occasion to drive in Kuwait, but couldn't see the round green sign among the others.

    3. I must have been channeling my colour blind son and only realized it was Kuwait after I posted. It's the same in Canada "No Vehicular Traffic" so I assume the green one means the opposite.?! I'm still looking though...you've piqued my curiosity.

  3. Found this on Wikipedia: "The "yes" symbol is considered the opposite of the "no" symbol. Instead of being red with a diagonal line, the "yes" symbol is characterized by an open green circle, with no diagonal line".

BUT WHAT IS IT SAYING "YES" TO ?????

    1. You beat me...Every 'No' should be balanced by multiple 'Yeses'. Nova Scotians are just really positive people. :)

  4. The ex-cop (who worked his share of time enforcing traffic laws)says it's a stupid sign because it's open to misinterpretation. He says it's not regulation but that's ok because it's erected on mall property. Personally I think the green circle makes a lovely frame and is just begging for a tag or graffiti.

    1. I guess it's a driving version of a "carte blanche" eh ?

  5. Well for heaven's sake. I thought this was a sign for a round-about. Round-abouts have become the big traffic control rage in my city. Round-abouts do not solve traffic problems for people who do not know what they are. And this sign would seem to be the perfect metaphor for the Ada County round-about mystery.

    1. We have one BIG "round about" here. It's called the Armdale Rotary. I know they're common in England, and I know they do speed up traffic, but if you've only gone on one in your life, THEY ARE SCARY !

  6. Sorry, I have never seen this sign over here. It's quite a mystery. Maybe someone should put an interrogation mark inside the green circle ;) ?

  7. Oh I think that's a terrific idea.

  8. I have NO IDEA what this means, but I peeked up above in your comments and think that Cindy may be right. But it's not fair to put it up, because no one in their right mind understands what it means.
