A boardwalk walk.

In spite of the lingering cold-spell, I took Wendy and Trey for a leash walk to McCormack's Boardwalk yesterday.

It was quite icy underfoot.

After doing a single 1 km. circuit, I rewarded them for their good behaviour with a game of chase the ball, on the exposed sand.  A few hours later, this area would be covered by the incoming tide.  It's important to know when low tide is.

Normally I don't include poorly focused shots in my posts, but have a close look at Trey in the photo below.  He did a full somersault and came up running as if nothing had happened.

He's pretty much indestructible.

    1. OMG if I could get him to NOT steal the other dogs balls -- he'd be great ! lol

  2. I like the photo of the town with the church- looks to be a nice one. And, it appears to be very cold where you live.

    1. Yup. It certainly was cold that day. We certainly have well-defined seasons .... lol Winter here (Nova Scotia) is generally milder and wetter than back in Ontario, but not so much this winter.

The town and church in the background are on Shore Road in Eastern Passage. Very scenic here.

  3. Those are irresistible dogs. Trey and Miss Sadie would have a wonderful time playing on the beach - or on the exposed bottomland. Sadie just likes the running and spin dancing and digging and ball chasing - doesn't give a rap for bringing the ball back, or keeping it either. Trey could have it. Wendy and the Cowboy could laugh behind their paws at the other two.

They would have to know when low tide is, but somehow it seems even more important to know when the tide will come back in . . .

    1. Good point Gerry. I guess knowing when HIGH tide is IS more important. ;-)

    1. Good question. Trey has a fine short coat. Wendy has this lab-type fur.

When cold Trey will shiver. Wendy never seems to be that cold. I think her coat insulates her much better.

Kait's dog, Sooki, has a very thin, fine coat and just hates winter. She has a big, thick puffy dog coat with legs. She looks very funny.

  6. LOL, we would refer to Trey's posture as "ass over teakettle" around here! ;-)

  8. I clicked on the somersault photo to enlarge it...so funny to see, but I do hope Trey didn't hurt himself! It looks like a fabulous place to take the dogs for a winter walk. :)

    1. He's absolutely fine. Being a pit-bull"type" dog, he's very sturdy. It's lovely when there is not a hurling wind blowing.

  9. What a breathtaking flip-flopping somersault moment, Sybil! Admiring the low tide shot with the church in the background. It looks cozy and Norman Rockwellish. Hope you've had a good week.
