Horsing around

I accompanied my daughter Kait, to her riding lesson on Sunday. While she tacked up the horse, I poked around and taking photos of the "inmates".

In my imagination I'm a terrific rider.

In reality, I'm a big wuss.   But I do love being around horses.

They are such beautiful creatures.

I even love how they SMELL !

What is it about us "girls" and horses ?

  2. I have never owned a horse, but there is something really special about them. I love to watch them whether it is a stall, a ring, or out in the meadow. Such beautiful creatures. Their eyes hold a mystery.

  4. Your photos are wonderful. I love horses as well but living in a big city (Montreal) I don't often get to see them.

    1. Thanks Linda. Do you sometimes see the mounted police in Montreal. Their horses are always so beautifully calm.

  5. Horses are beautiful and powerful creatures, and they need to be taken care of properly. Not to sound sexist, but perhaps they share these traits with "girls".

  7. Wonderful pictures!
I love horses, my grandpa had horses when I was growing up.
Once I was riding one (bareback) and I got thrown off but no harm done to me.
    I grew up In NS.

    1. Thanks Margie, Sadly I got thrown once and it caused me to "loose my nerve". I love horses, but am afraid to ride.

  8. Horses are indeed very beautiful creatures, but I also am afraid to ride because in middle school a classmate of mine was thrown from a horse and died. They are so large! But that doesn't stop me from riding them in my daydreams. Wonderful pictures, Sybil.

    1. I'd like a "horse" that is small enough I can drag my feet whilst on it !

  9. Grace, beauty and strength are qualities that attract us all. But you're right - girls do seem to fall the hardest.

  10. Hi Sybil! Oh I liked looking at these pics of the horsies. Reminds me when, a long blogging era ago, I took pics of my niece's horses. Love their long noses and how soft they are. Hey, you haven't posted for as long as me, a couple days longer even! Are you enjoying your blogging break? Have you found a new house yet? Are you doing OK? I had a great visit with my mom and dad. Lots of laughter, a few tears. Threw away TONS!

    1. I'm in a bit of a funk. I have found the new place and put in a conditional offer and have harry a bite on my current home. I feel like I'm living in limbo. Waiting to exhale.

Glad you had a good visit with the folks.
