I must confess ...

I am sick, sick, sick to death of winter.  It started early and has been colder and snowier than it has been for years.

BUT, I must confess, it is pretty.

Here are some photos from recent walks with Wendy and Trey in "my" woods.

  1. It is sooooo pretty Sybil and the dogs seem to love it too. Or maybe it isn't the snow they love, it's the walk, and walking with you. ~ Joanne. :)

    1. Thanks Joanne, If I'm well dressed and the day is sunny, it actually is nice in the woods on a snowy day. The dogs just love going for runs in the woods. Wendy does her own thing, while Trey finds logs (his version of sticks) for me to attempt to throw. He really did over-do it yesterday and is paying for it today. I'm afraid he's gonna just have to spend today resting ...

  2. Hmmm, I swear I read this and commented before, but maybe it's just deja vu with all that snow. Cute doggies! Love 'em.

  4. Our winter has been colder and snowier than average, too. Not sure if it's aging, but even with insulated gloves on my fingers are getting too cold too quickly out there - it feels like hundreds of pins sticking in to the tips. Yesterday I couldn't finish shoveling out the car they hurt so much.

I'm so happy you posted the pictures of Trey and Wendy - they look so beautiful in the snow. It's as if they're making the best of it and thinking, "Oh well, it is what it is..."

    1. Barbara, dump the gloves. Go for heavy mitts. It's been too cold for gloves this winter. Wendy and Trey makes the best of EVERYTHING ! lol

    2. Thanks for the tip, Sybil! I did not know that mittens could make such a difference!

  5. I do agree that snow is beautiful, especially the fresh snow, but getting out in it is another story. Really like the photo of the dogs gazing up at you. Hang on Sybil, we'll get through this.....I hope.....I hope.

  6. I wish I had some of that snow! We're having a wacky season of inversion, snow followed by rain, ack.

The dogs are like kids in that they pull you outdoors even when you don't think you want to go. Then their enthusiasm can't help but reward your efforts. They love the snow and you!

    1. You are right, the dogs get me out there, and I need that.

We don't normally have this much snow or cold. Sounds like you're getting OUR weather ! Are you really missing the snow ?

    1. Oh Les, you are so right. I have had it with snow. This has been a very strange winter here on the coast. We are no where near as mild as you, but our winters are usually wet with average daytime high of freezing and not 10 or 20 below !!! I feel like Pollyanna playing the "Glad game" ...
