As sometimes happens when I get excited about an upcoming trip, I awoke with a headache. Damn. Damn. Damn ! I drank some water, chuffed a couple of ibuprophen, had some toast and went back to bed. A few hours later, more water, more pills and more sleep. I slept until after 2 p.m. donned a pair of sunglasses and made myself some lunch.
Since Kait was out at the park with three of the dogs, I decided to salvage what I could of the day, get some fresh air and go for a walk with Trey.
We headed down to Fisherman's Cove for an amble around the boardwalk. Luckily I'd brought along his ball and we stopped for some fun.
I don't know how I got this shot of the ball hitting the water in front of him as he leaps like a deer after it. |
Ditto with the return trip. Look at the circles in the water behind him. |
Upon resuming our walk we encountered an assortment of people enjoying the day.
Fisherfolk at the narrows across from Lawlor's Island. |
Coming across the wedding party was a lovely bonus, as they took some memorable photos of their special day.
Unlike much of Canada to the west of us where they are sweating their way through a sweltering heat wave, the weather was warm and the day breezy. A lovely day for a walk.
On the way home we passed this rose bush. So I stopped. And smelled the roses. Oh the heady, sweet scent -- so lovely !
The day was far from a total loss.
No worries. The sand dollars will still be there when I do finally make it to Rose Bay.
Poor you, they are such a drag those headaches, but I bet you felt better after seeing Trey skipping across the water! Lovely doggie!
ReplyDeleteGreat Photos! VV
ReplyDeleteI am glad your headache released enough to let you go to the water. I can smell the roses through the computer. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteLynne, I love watching a dog having fun. I absorb their happiness.
ReplyDeleteThanksVV
Kathy,oh that rose was sooooo sweet.
I admire your get-up-and-go. I don't need any excuse to stay in my pajamas all day, but it's not like I have a beach to call me. I love the pictures. Great timing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy.
