Nature Idioms ....

The Blog-o-sphere is a fascinating place.

Recently, my chum Amy-Lynn, posted a response on her blog, Flandrum Hill , to a photo challenge at Karma's When I Feel Like It Blog.  The challenge was to post three to six photos illustrating an idiom in nature.  As Amy-Lynn explains, "idioms are words and phrases that hold a special meaning in a given language".

I must confess that I didn't go out and take photos specifically in response to the challenge, but rather, browsed through my existing photos looking for appropriate shots.  Perhaps by doing that, I'm breaking the rules.  I'm such a rebel !    ;-)

Interestingly, all the shots and idioms I chose, relate to water.

Any port in a storm

Birds of a feather, flock together.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

Clear as mud.
Not the only pebble on the beach
A drop in the ocean.

What a fun challenge !   Thanks Karma.

  1. I love those images of the boats at low and high tide. Surely you didn't wait around while it rose (or receded)!

These photo challenges are so much fun aren't they? I'm so glad you participated.

  8. Hi there Sybil! I'm finally getting around to seeing all the photo hunts after being without power and internet service for days.(nasty storm cropped up). I'm so glad you decided to participate and you have a unique selection of idioms! Usually I say I'm looking for new photos for photo hunts just because I like to give people ideas for getting out with their cameras, but archived photos are always welcome too!

  9. Oh dear Karma, being a newbie to challenges I didn't realize. I can see it would be a much bigger challenge to go out and take pictures specifically for an assignment. I look forward to getting the next challenge right. ;-)
