What was it like today where you live ?
Here in Eastern Passage, the temperature gingerly rose above zero Celsius. A light misty rain began to fall. And of course, it was breezy.
So naturally, I took Wendy and Trey for a walk to Hartlen Point.
I love walking near the ocean. It's such an immersive experience: the sound of the roaring waves and the calling gulls; the scent of the salty air and the exposed sea weed; and a misty breeze, that sometimes brings the taste of salt to my lips.
And of course my two best buds to walk with.
Magical.
Ah, the smell of fresh salt air without the bite of wind and cold sounds like just the thing!
ReplyDeleteKarma,It's warming up ever so slowly. But I just love the ocean. It's different every time I visit.
DeleteI like that you appreciate magical. And that you walk by the ocean, you lucky dog. (Ha ha, you, Sybil, I meant.) Today it's kinda half cloudy and it was snowing a bit earlier but maybe the sun will come out later. Kind of a hodge podge day.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever find Kathy, when you're taking photos that you are trying to capture so much more than the image within that little box shape ? I feel like I'm trying to save the feeling of what I'm experiencing. The wind with it's marvellous scents. The lovely sounds.
DeleteGlad you're having good weather. Today is bright and warm and melting. It won't last long. Forecast is for freezing rain tonight and more SNOW tomorrow. We can only hope that the weatherman (men, women) are wrong, but I doubt it. Enjoy while it lasts.

I'm just glad that February is behind us. Now it's March, I feel I can start looking forward to spring.
DeleteI also love the smell of the salt air... The Pacific is such a calm ocean - we never get anything like the crashing waves of the Atlantic or the smell of salt - I miss that.

I thought the Pacific would be far wilder than the Atlantic. Did you used to live on the east coast ?
DeleteYou have warm there. Last week we had in the morning -26 Celsius. This morning - 11 Celsius. Okay, days are coming warmer.
ReplyDeleteOur prairie provinces have colder weather like Finland. Being on the Atlantic, our temperatures in Nova Scotia are usually more moderate with highs of 2 or 3 C in March. Happily our days are getting longer and that extra daylight is a bonus. You must have very long days in summer and very short in winter. Our shortest here are 8 hours of daylight, and our longest have 16 hours of day light.
