In other words, it was a lovely day for a walk.
Des brought along his Bouvier, Liza and "pittie", Rascal. I took Wendy and Sooki.
Sooki spent much of her time reacting to Red Squirrels who skittered up tree trunks and scolded us as we passed by.
I do believe that silly dog, thinks she can WISH that squirrel outta that tree !
Toward the end of the walk, Des put the group on a "sit-stay", for a group shot.
That "sit stay" is impressive! I don't think I could get my two to do that for more than a couple seconds! Was Trey unable to make the trip with the pack?
ReplyDeleteTrey doesn't do well in off leash dog parks. He gets too excitable and gets upset when other dogs approach him. Instead he got not one, but two frisbee runs at our corner park. Thanks for asking.
DeleteOh these are marvelous pictures. At first I thought they were in black & white, till I noticed the dogs were in color. Great!
ReplyDeleteMay 2014 be a good year for you.
Thanks so much. I love that dramatic black and white appearance. A love RED dog coat would really look stunning in such a shot.
DeleteReally cute and impressive with sit and stay. Y'all are good trainers for sure. And it looks to dang cold for me where you are but it sure is pretty.
ReplyDeleteThere's cold and there's COLD. This was a nice cold day. No wind and the temperature was just on freezing.
DeleteThese pictures are GORGEOUS, Sybil! OK, they do involve snow. And cold. But they are wonderful. You rock. Happy 2014!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy. It's not always so snowy and pretty in Halifax in the winter and certainly not this early in the winter. Happy New Year back at ya !
DeleteHello Sybil, my comment did not seem to get through…
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know I really enjoyed this post about your walk in the woods with your friends and dogs. Beautiful pictures and impressive sit and stay moment. Nino might have kept still for a moment…unless of course a squirrel would have teased them all ;)
No idea what would have happened if a SQUIRREL had run by. Though I suspect they would all have heeded Des. He has a way with dogs. The park really was pretty. Our winters in Halifax tend to be brown and green with a tough of white, but like many places, we've had lots of early snow.
DeleteSuch gooood dogs! Amazing how they sit-stayed for long enough to allow you to take a photo. The snow looks beautiful...
ReplyDeleteThanks. They know their "Sit - Stay" commands well. They must "sit - stay" before being given the "OK" to eat. The snow does look beautiful, and I'm happy to say it's warmed up too.
