Yesterday was mild, so I took Wendy and Trey for a walk to Rainbow Haven. I haven't been there often enough lately. Not sure why.
The ocean has been very loud these past few days. High winds far out at sea and the in-coming tide push the waves higher and farther in. I was glad I was wearing my rubber boots as one second I was standing on a wide expanse of beach, and the next I was ankle deep in water.
The day started out misty and foggy, but mild. Oh, so mild !
The front part of Rainbow Haven consists of a long beach that is reached by two scenic boardwalks. In the summer the building in the background (in the video below) houses a canteen, lifeguard quarters and washrooms.
What a difference a day makes !
Today dawned much colder and bit snowy. We headed to the "Secret Beach", an unnamed hidden beach, marked only by a gravel lay-by, that is even closer to my home than Rainbow Haven.
Many folk in Eastern Passage don't even know that this lovely spot exists -- and I'm not telling them ! That'll teach 'em not to read my Blog. ;-)
A lovely slope, criss-crossed with easy-to-walk paths present an impressive view of the ocean.
Here, let me show you:
You don't blame me for keeping it secret, do you ?
Oh I miss it sooo much! Can't wait to get back and get my boots on again with my three friends, Sybil, Trey and Wendy. Nice post!

DeleteThank you for sharing your secret beach, and Rainbow Haven. There is something very special about the ocean, the waves and the wind. It can be mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteand oh so restful Bonnie. I just love it here.
DeleteIt is absolutely marvelous! You can just feel the power! Don't tell a soul!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou got it girl. Mum's the word.
DeleteHow cool is this? You've shared a SECRET with us! (I liked hearing your voice, too.) It was hard, though, trying to translate 5-6 km from your house into miles. Do you know how many miles it might be?
ReplyDeleteIt's not far at all Kathy. Maybe 4 miles. Km are smaller. One km is .6 of a mile.
DeleteWhen you come for a visit -- I said WHEN -- I'll take you there.
