Wendy and Trey wait to be told they can leave the car. |
We walked a kilometer down the road. Though I'd bundled up, and was wearing mitts over my gloves, my hands got very cold every time I took my little camera out of my pocket to take pictures. Because it looked so sunny, I'd underestimated how cold it was. How cold was it ? -6 C, but it felt more like - 13 C with the wind chill factored in. Brrrr.
After we hoofed it back to the car, I drove around the area to check out the scenery from a warmer vantage point.
Wasn't it lovely ?
One small word of advice -- don't eat the yellow snow.
It certainly was lovely today. I love your winter wonderland shots. Thanks for the tip about the yellow snow....I always wondered.
ReplyDeleteLove, V xx
You didn't really wonder did you ?
DeleteCome out west cuz, and I'll give you "snow can be pretty"!
ReplyDeleteGulp. No thanks ?
DeleteHello Sybil! So, Wendy and Trey are your dogs? I'll remember that in future!
ReplyDeleteI have never in my life seen such beautiful snow! You are so lucky to see it every winter (even though I suspect you don't believe that yourself!) :)
Thanks Joanne. We live very close to the ocean, so we don't get snow that often, and when it does snow it seldom stays. But we've had some bitchin' cold weather weather lately ... I do love it when it's pretty like this. Just wish it wasn't so darn cold.
DeleteGorgeous pictures -- well worth the frostbite. (Easy for me to say.)
ReplyDeleteI kept doing that blowing-into-my-mitt thing ... You probably have it colder in P.E.I. than we do here on the eastern shore ...
DeleteBeautiful snowy scenes. Bet the dogs loved it for a while but I would think they were happy to get back into the car with the heater on high.
ReplyDeleteThey never complain while they're out running but once back home the do sleep a lot. ;-)
DeleteThere is nothing quite so beautiful as a sunny winter day - especially viewed from inside the nice warm car. We've had a string of sunny days, too, and it put all of us in a good mood. Now . . . it's raining. Rats. I like seasons that act like themselves, or more accurately, that act the way they did when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteWe don't get a lot of sunny winter days here Gerry. Overcast and gloom is more the norm. Sounds like you've got OUR weather.
DeleteOh yes, pretty snow. It's been springtime here for the last week, but looks like it might be snowing again soon. (Window check--yes, it is now.) Your pics are really beautiful. I saw this on FB the other day and pondered the yellow snow comments. Hey, did you ever notice that when the sap melts around the trees it's yellow? And it's not salty--it's sweet!
