I stared at them in awe as I realized they were two mature bald eagles.
It's at times like this, that I wish I had a decent camera. So let me apologize now, as the images just don't do these marvellous creatures justice.
They seemed to be sparing in the air as they turned claw to claw and soared over my head. What a thrill !
They became tiny dots in the distance, and then one of them came back and landed farther down the shore.
Can you see him, standing in the grass, just right of centre in this photo ?
I pushed my little camera to the limits of its meagre zoom lens.
All the time I was watching him, I was studiously keeping Wendy and Trey busy by throwing the ball in the opposite direction.
Reluctantly, I followed them away from the Eagle and back up the shore.
Another magical day in the Passage.
Nice pics Sybs. Lucky you to see those super birds xx

Hope they have moved somewhere in the area, and are now residents.
DeleteWhat a wonderful experience! I'd love to see bald eagles soaring through the air, whether I was able to get the photo or not. Thanks for adding to all the wonderful sights I've seen around the blogosphere this morning. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's not something I've seen often Karma. I hope to see them again.
DeleteYou and your little camera did good work here. We have a lot of bald eagle near where I live. I love watching them. The other thing we have a lot of is Great Blue Herons, which are just as intriguing to watch.
ReplyDeleteThank you. We have the herons here too, but I'd never say we have "a lot" of either.
DeleteI love seeing those eagles. Love. Simply love.
ReplyDeleteBet you have lots in your area too !
DeleteWe do, Sybil. But every one is as breathtaking as the last one. Don't you agree?
DeleteOh I do. I only saw them once or twice in almost sixty years in Ontario. We have lots of Osprey here too !
