Sooki -- the day after the night before.

Sooki thanks you for all your good wishes.

She wants you to know that she is feeling mildly "stoned" (her words not mine).

She says that though her face and paws do hurt today, she knows she'll feel better tomorrow.

In fact, she believes that by the weekend she should be up to a re-match !

š
Sybil here:

I have told Sooki there will be no re-match if I have anything to say about it.
While in her fevered mind she is scheming to ensure that her next kill will have a different outcome, she fails to realize that ALL Porcupines have quills.
I told her that the woods are the Porcupine's home and we shouldn't be going into their homes and killing them.
We have agreed to disagree on this matter.

  1. Wow, all those quills. Ouch! Feel better soon, Sooki.

  2. They are unbelievably sharp. If you brush up against them they "stick" in your skin. She had "hundreds" removed from her mouth and face. I am happy to report she's feeling MUCH better.

  3. I must have missed a post. When did all this take place and how did she get away to fight with a porcupine? Those quills look as if made out of steel.

She sure looks pooped and out of it. Poor dog. Thank God for good veterinarians.

    1. Check out the previous post for the dramatic tale ! She's back to her old self now but still on anti biotics and pain meds. Oh yes ! We just called the vet and said "get ready, we're coming with an emergency". We just wanted them to put her "under" before she could make the situation worse rubbing her face.

  4. Those porcupine quills look positively lethal! I hope it's just the drugs talking and Sooki now knows, Stay Clear of All Porcupines! ~ Joanne.

  5. Silly girl Joanne. NO. She will not stay clear of them. In the dog's mind as she was being "quilled", she was being attacked. The poor porkie was probably very dead, but Sooki kept biting it and would have felt pain and interpreted that pain as an attack. In other words, she kept "fighting" long after the fight was over. She doesn't "get" how the quills work. I'm not taking her back into the woods as I know the ONLY thing on her mind would be finding a damn porcupine and having a re-match. Dogs can be so stooooopid sometimes !

  7. Oh dear, I do hope Ms. Sooki rethinks wanting to go back after one. I worked in a veterinarian's office for a short time in my life and will never forget the poor pathetic quill filled face of a dog.
